I can't be too clean...my last name is Messer!
Lots of change happening in my life right now. My husband Jody and I put our house up for sale, so we have been doing some cleaning out. A question I find myself asking more and more lately is "Why is it so difficult to get rid of things?" I sometimes wish I could get rid of everything I own and just start over. But then of course I look at my favorite pair of red pumps and know that I would never part with them. (They have a tortoise heel on them.. I mean come on!) So, today I am looking for ideas to help us organize our home. I found a few good things but mostly just stuff I already know. One good idea is that everything in your home should have a "place." Meaning when you use something there should always be a spot for it to go when you are done with it. It's pretty genius I think. I will probably never be the type of person who puts everything back after I use it but I would love to be better at keeping my house clutter free. So for sanity's sake I'm off to atleast to throw away old half-empty bottles of shampoo.....hey it's a start!

Things Every Woman Should.......
I love the lists that Glamour magazine puts out every month. Here are two of my favorites:
Things Every Woman Should Have Before the Age of 35:
1 One old boyfriend who reminds you of how far you’ve come.
2 A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.
3 The knowledge of how to entertain unexpected guests and a house clean enough that you won't be embarassed when someone does drop by unexpectedly, but no so clean you make your guests uncomfortable.
4 A purse, a suitcase and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.
5 A youth you’re content to move beyond.
6 A past juicy enough that you’re looking forward to retelling it in your old age.
7 The realization that you are actually going to have an old age—and some money set aside to help fund it.
8 An e-mail address, a voice mailbox and a bank account—all of which nobody has access to but you.
9 A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded.
10 A set of good dishes.
11 A set of screwdrivers, a hammer and a black lace bra.
12 Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.
13 The belief that you deserve it.
14 A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.
15 Something outrageous.
Things Every Woman Should Know:
1 How to fall in love without losing yourself.
2 How to comfort someone who is in mourning.
3 How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.
4 How to find joy in the little things: A circus, a thank you card, a pretty sunset.
5 How to kiss in a way that communicates perfectly what you would and wouldn’t like to happen next.
6 The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best dry cleaner in town.
7 How to live alone, even if you don’t like to.
8 Where to get a picture framed professionally, who to ask for advice, and what to wear to a cocktail party.
9 That you can’t change the size of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents.
10 That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.
11 What you would and wouldn’t do for money or love.
12 That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long.
13 Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally.
14 Not to apologize for something that isn’t your fault.
15 Why they say life begins at 50 and 50 is the new 40.

Getting back to it!
Wow. It's been awhile. I just joined "Twitter" and it has sort of inspired me to start back on my blog. A lot has changed since my last entry but I will try to catch -up quickly. I entered a contest to find a new morning radio personality at Mix 102.9 in Gadsden and to my surprise I actually won it! So now I get up at 5 a.m. everyday (for those of you who know me that is VERY VERY early for me) and wake up the Coosa Valley! ha. I really love it and hope to get a lot of opportunities to meet tons of wonderful people. I really have always wanted to volunteer but never seem to make the time to do it. A big part of this new job will be volunteering in the community so I hope to get my fill on that! My first remote is this Friday and Saturday for the Red Cross Blood Drive! Oh and by the way before I go anyone reading this really needs to join me on "Twitter." I have sort of become an advocate for it! Promise to do better on keeping my blog more up-to-date!

Family fun
Bella is taking out her aggressions on Jody. Anyone know how to get in touch with the dog whisperer? I wonder if he would make a trip to Gadsden?
Starting a blog
Hello and welcome to my first blog post. I have been talking about starting a blog for a long time now and I finally took the time to do it. I hope all my friends will pick up on the trend. :)
